Question No. 7
During the initial stage of a project, the team estimated activities for the next iteration in story
points. It was agreed that each story point would be assumed to be equal to one day of effort during
project execution. There are some activities estimated as two story points and others estimated as
100 story points.
What should the project manager ask the team to do next?
Select one option, then reveal solution.

Not B, because resizing only helps if the scale is already consistent. The huge difference between 2 and 100 points suggests the big tasks should be broken down (D) to get more manageable estimates.

D The huge difference between 2 and 100 points shows the big tasks need splitting so they’re manageable and estimations are more reliable. Smaller pieces are easier to track and complete.

D imo, breaking down the huge 100-point tasks will make them easier to manage and estimate more realistically. Tackling one massive chunk at once just isn’t practical.

Totally agree that D is solid, but also think B makes sense here. If the team’s equating one story point to one day, the wide range between 2 and 100 points suggests their sizing might be off. Resizing or recalibrating the story points could help get more consistent estimates before breaking tasks down further. So, maybe ask them to adjust their scale first, then split the really large ones for better tracking.

D. Breaking down those 100-point activities makes sense, so they’re easier to manage and estimate properly without huge gaps. Too big is usually a red flag.
