Makes sense to me that it’s A. Another way to check is by approximating: the middle height looks around 400, and since we have a couple of dogs above and below that, the mean should be near 394. The really tall 600mm dog pulls it up a bit but not enough to hit values as high as C or D. So yeah, A fits best with just a quick mental check too.

Probably A here. The total of the heights is definitely 1970 when you add them all up (300 + 430 + 170 + 470 + 600), so dividing by 5 dogs gives 394. None of the other options come close to that number. So it’s just basic math with no tricks.

B tbh, if you try averaging without the 600mm dog, the mean shifts a lot, so including all five heights confirms the total sum and makes A the only viable answer here.

D imo, if you mistakenly add 430+470 as 900 instead of 900+170, you'd get a higher mean closer to 504. But since the actual sum is 1970, A is correct. Just watch your addition!

That makes sense but I double-checked the sum: 300+430=730, plus 170=900, plus 470=1370, plus 600=1970 total. Dividing 1970 by 5 gives 394 exactly, so I agree with A here. Nothing else matches that calculation.

I'm going with A. Adding all heights: 300+430+170+470+600 = 1970. Dividing by 5 gives 394mm mean height. Seems straightforward.
