Free VMware 2V0-13.25 Actual Exam Questions - Question 13 Discussion

Question No. 13
An architect is responsible for designing a new VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)-based private cloud.
During the discovery workshops, the following information was captured from key customer
stakeholders:
The private cloud will operate with three different monitoring levels:
Self-Managed Service: VM construct only
OS Managed Service: OS metrics and VM construct
Fully Managed Service: Infrastructure apps + OS metrics + VM construct
Approved infrastructure applications include: Microsoft IIS, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Tomcat
Server, and Apache HTTPD
Each workload must subscribe to a monitoring level
Minimal management overhead is required for agent operations
Which two design decision should the architect make to meet the stated monitoring requirements?
(Choose two.)
Select all that apply, then reveal solution.

It’s A and C since OS Managed needs agent-based OS metrics, Self-Managed can rely on Service Discovery.

It’s A and B. Self-Managed can use Service Discovery since it’s just VM construct info, no agents needed. Fully Managed needs deeper app and OS monitoring, so Managed Telegraf fits better there.

Maybe A and C. Since Self-Managed only needs VM construct info, using Service Discovery (A) there makes sense—no agent overhead. For OS Managed, they need OS metrics plus VM data, so deploying the Managed Telegraf Agent (C) fits well without adding too much complexity. For Fully Managed, the question says infrastructure apps plus OS and VM data, but it doesn’t specify if the Managed Telegraf alone covers app-level monitoring fully. So better to avoid assuming B or E for now. This way, agent management stays minimal where possible.

C The OS Managed service needs OS metrics plus VM data, so Managed Telegraf fits there without extra agents. A doesn’t make sense since Self-Managed only needs VM construct, which can be covered by Service Discovery.

Option A makes sense since Self-Managed is VM-only and agentless, so service discovery fits. Option C also seems right because OS Managed needs OS metrics, which Managed Telegraf covers without extra agent hassle.

B imo, since Fully Managed covers apps, plus A for Self-Managed to avoid agents there.

A/C? Service Discovery covers the VM construct needed for Self-Managed, and Managed Telegraf fits the OS metrics requirement for OS Managed without adding extra agent overhead. Makes sense to keep it simple.

It’s A and C for me. Self-Managed only needs VM construct monitoring, so Service Discovery fits there. OS Managed requires OS metrics, so the Managed Telegraf Agent suits that level best.

I think B and C make the most sense here since the Managed Telegraf Agent covers OS metrics and infrastructure apps, fitting Fully and OS Managed services. Self-Managed should just use Service Discovery, so A works too but only pick two.
